Bundarrah Days

Philip Maguire is a Mountain Cattleman from the Bundarrah Valley near Omeo.  He and his wife Louise also run horse tours of the Victorian high country. Their property, Mt Bundarrah Station, was severely burned in the 2003 fires.  Phil believes the Victorian government's decision to ban alpine grazing was an assault on Australia's cultural heritage as well as an insult to the environment. He has vowed to continue the fight until cattle are back grazing the high plains as they have done since 1835. This summer, in an act of considered defiance, he drove his cattle back to the Bogong High Plains. Phil and Louise have three children, Anthony,11, James 7 and Cara, 5.
