Bushfire Review Will Burn Out
THERE is to be a "People's Review" of the bushfire summer of 2006/07.
Initally I thought what a terrific idea until a keen bushwalker and former member of the Australian Conservation Foundation got involved.
The review won't go anywhere and once again those directly affected by the fires will lose their voice. They'll contribute their views, the report will come out critical of the government and conservation bureaucracy but any criticism will be watered down by dissenting voices from within.
What a waste of time and effort.

Take over the process. Challenge the bushwalker. If necessary, subvert the inquiry by holding one of your own. Use their bullhorn/pulpit. Set the agenda. Select the participants. Own the process.
Think cattle herding. That's the ticket.

Mike,
Phil seems to have gone a little quiet lately, but I' m sure its the calm before the storm.
Have you seen the comment "Is he up to it or what is he up to?'
Given Phil is such a determined and cheeky bugger he'll be working on something to embarrass all and sundry.
